Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, has maintained that truth still holds and nothing will stop him from saying what needs to be said; even if it means paying frequent visits to the police station.

He made the above utterance when he appeared at the Accra High Court on Thursday for physically abusing two church members during one of his Sunday Church services.

“I have not stopped saying the truth… going to the police station on several occasions will not stop me from saying the truth […] I will continue to speak truth until the day Jesus Christ comes for me to Heaven.”

Asked what he meant by the truth, the controversial church leader did not make any further comment.

During the court hearing, Obinim was issued a bench warrant by the High Court Judge for not appearing in court when his case was mentioned. He was arraigned to reappear on December 11, 2016.

Obinim, who turned up late for court, had his lawyer Mr Ralph Poku Adusei defending his lateness, siting traffic as the reason.

Mr Adusei prayed the court adjourn the case because he had a trial case at Cape Coast which fell within the date given by the Judge.

Together with two other leaders of his Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim will reappear before the court on December 16, 2016.

As a reminder, Bishop Daniel Obinim, who is not new to controversies, was captured in a video in August whipping a “pregnant” young woman and a man during church service for engaging in premarital sex.

He said the two had confessed to fornication leading to the teenage girl committing abortion at a stage during their 'ungodly' relationship.

He was granted bail after being detained for assaulting the two church members as well as facing defrauding by false pretence charges in a Gh¢11.6 million case.
